Caricatures and Face-Painting

June 11th, 2011

Did you know that I do Face-Painting as well as Caricatures? Well, I do….

Last night I did Face-Painting for the cutest Pre-School Graduation. I arrived early and had some time to play around with some ideas before the event.
I came up with a New Idea. Hark! A New Idea!

As of now, I’ve only done Either Caricatures Or Face-Painting at any one time.
Switching Setups back and forth feels crazy. But it could be Fun to try it this new way - the new idea I just came up with. (Stay tuned:-)

I can just Draw the ‘face-painting’ Onto the caricature. Like this:

Small extra fee because of the
extra skills and doubled concentration that this requires.

Christmas Party

December 20th, 2010

Back in November, I was hired to draw for a company located in Rockefeller Plaza. To celebrate the Big Tree Lighting Ceremony! It was a hoot. Gridlock driving around Manhattan, took a garage back where I came in to the city and walked to the venue. But even the streets were

Stopped. People lined the streets to see the event, so they just

Stopped. Trying to get through with all my supplies…..
Wow - I was there. Right where people wanted to be! And
I was there!

Sooo, I finally got a chance to post some pictures from that event.
And I figure that this is a good day for it - Glad I could at least get it here before Christmas…..

(BTW - I didn’t draw the scene on the side of the papers. These preprinted papers were supplied to me by the venue. I only created the Caricature Part and all Color of course.)

A Political Pundit

November 19th, 2009

Whatever your political views, you gotta admit that this guy must be drawn.
I saw him in a movie, and I just had to stop and draw him:

“Aw, you can do better than that, Alison” I told myself.
So then I drew this one:

The reason I drew the first one is because I’m searching for a quick easy way to make party Caricatures - so I wouldn’t have to work/focus so hard when I’m at the party. But it’s just not as good. I can do these high-quality Caricatures if I give it the effort, and it’s really worth it. Still goes pretty fast, but I feel compelled to skip the extra steps it involves when my clients push me to focus on quantity.

I really like the 2nd picture better.
So I gave it a litl more effort.
Added in some shading:

And then - Photoshop! I added in a wild background. Just for fun:

(I hope you realize that I’m drawing Al Franken here)
