Fashion Sketches for Sweet 16's

Posted Feb 2014

Here is a serious Fashion Sketch that I created in the Studio. It's a logo for a new Spa.

I will be drawing more Fashion Sketches at a Sweet 16 tomorrow. Oh I like this.

Fashion Sketches are pictures that exaaaaaggerate the clothes. I'm interested in that. So are the people who come all dressed up to Parties.

I have so many events coming up soon which ordered the Fashion Sketches. Two Sweet 16's, Two Corporate Events, a Wedding, and Cocktail Party. So much running around, I do hope that I remember to take some photos of my drawings.

Glitter Tattoo Information

Posted Oct 2013

People love my Freehand Glitter Tattoos. But when they're first making their Party Plans, it feels like they've never heard of it before. They get so excited and have so many questions for me. So I feel like this Post will help. I'll try to answer the most common questions here:

The difference between Freehand Glitter Tattoos and regular glitter tattoos: Regular glitter tattoos are done with little stencils. They are usually quite small (albeit glittery), and they are generic. The same picture can go on anyone, usually just for children. My Freehand Glitter Tattoos, on the other hand, are created fresh for each person. Even if I am choosing the same design for several different people, it will be different on each person. I make them to fit the area that's presented to me. Sometimes the design is affected by how much body is exposed beside the person's clothing. Sometimes the design is affected by the way the bones and muscles of the person drape around her body. And they are practically always bigger than the generic stencils.

My Glitter Tattoos are beautiful and glamorous. Even for grown ups. The reason I established an Age Limit for Ages 8 and Up is because they are applied in two or more steps. First the design is painted with the glue. Then the glue has to dry before the Glitter can be applied. Usually the first part is dry by the time I finish painting the design. But sometimes, a guest might have to wait a minute or so before the Glitter can be applied. In the interest of decorating as many people as possible during an Event, I would start a design on another guest while one guest's glue is drying. If the child is under 8 years old, she might not understand that the glue cannot be touched without ruining the design.

While I do Face-Painting on the Face as well as other areas of the body, I do not do Freehand Glitter Tattoos on the Face. I only do Freehand Glitter Tattoos on other areas of the body. Such as: arms, hands, decollette under the neck, shoulders, lower backs, ankles, calves, thighs. Even though I do use Cosmetic Grade Glitter for both Face-Painting and Freehand Glitter Tattoos, I just feel uncomfortable about putting the Freehand Glitter Tattoos too near the eyes. There is not only more Glitter in the Freehand Glitter Tattoos than when Glitter is used in Face-Painting, but there is even more extra Leftover loose Glitter in the Freehand Glitter Tattoos than is used in any Face-Painting. It just looks like something I wouldn't want to do near my own eyes, so I wouldn't do it to anyone else.

Face-Painting with Glitter is just a little bit glittery. The emphasis there is on the Face-Painting. Too much glitter would botch up the Face-Painting. The only way to have the Wow Glamorous Glitter is with the Freehand Glitter Tattoos.

The Freehand Glitter Tattoo is dry almost immediately after it is created. I recommend waiting a minute or so to be sure, but then it can be touched, you can get it wet, it can go in the pool, it can go in the shower.... It usually lasts about a week or two. If you don't wash roughly enough to exfoliate the area. I don't even recommend using soap directly on the Glitter Tattoo, although it would probably still stay on even if you did. Face-Painting, on the other hand, comes off as soon as you wet the area. To wash off a Fece-Painting, you would gently rub the Face-Painting for about 60 seconds with soap and water and a wash cloth.

So how would you take off the Freehand Glitter Tattoo early if you wanted to? Most people want them to stay on as long as possible, but if you do have some reason to take it off, that can easily be done at any time. With 91% Rubbing Alcohol which can be bought inexpensively at most super-markets or drug stores. You would use the Rubbing Alcohol with a washcloth.

It's all good. But Freehand Glitter Tattoos are usually preferred for Sweet 16's, Bat Mitzvot, Wedding Showers, and Engagement Parties over Face-Painting. While Adults do Enjoy the Face-Painting at Mardi-Gras Parties, Superbowl Parties, Halloween Events, Day of the Dead Celebrations, Purim Celebrations, and More, the Face-Painting is most often chosen for Childrens' Parties.

more Party Pictures

I feel so interested to see all the different people. So many people.

I felt tickled pink by my visual reaction to this boy. I felt like his hair was separated from his head, like it went up to the clouds. That's what makes it so much fun to be an Artist:

This one looked like a doll:

And I felt so pleased to draw this girl. My favorite type of picture is the 'short story'. That's what I call it. Just drawing what needs to be drawn to tell the story. Without a lot of extra stuff:

I feel so blessed that so many people stop in front of me. So I get the opportunity to really see them.
