Caricature Express

I do have an interesting job. I have to dream up all sorts of visions based on whatever my clients come up with. This one was for a client who wanted some pictures to perk up his Power Point Presentation.

At least the first picture was a Caricature. That is what I do. I just emailed him jpeg images of what I drew. A smart man in his office who works with numbers (did he say the guy was an actuary, maybe?) And very tall and skinny. And the man is also into meditating.

But the 2nd picture - It was different. My client wanted me to use his actual photos and create a Wanted Poster - like Bonnie and Clyde, he said. But then he was talking about something else. Sounded like he was thinking Mafia. Or Gangster. Trying to ascertain what’s in my client’s head, trying to do what he wants…. This is what I came up with. It’s real camp. Real fun.

I’m hoping that the first picture of the man meditating, the picture with the bright pink background - I’m hoping that will catch his audience’s attention. Make them sit up and notice.

I’m hoping that the 2nd picture will bring, the Wanted Poster, I’m hoping that it will lighten the atmosphere. Playfully drawn.

Back in November, I was hired to draw for a company located in Rockefeller Plaza. To celebrate the Big Tree Lighting Ceremony! It was a hoot. Gridlock driving around Manhattan, took a garage back where I came in to the city and walked to the venue. But even the streets were

Stopped. People lined the streets to see the event, so they just

Stopped. Trying to get through with all my supplies…..
Wow - I was there. Right where people wanted to be! And
I was there!

Sooo, I finally got a chance to post some pictures from that event.
And I figure that this is a good day for it - Glad I could at least get it here before Christmas…..

(BTW - I didn’t draw the scene on the side of the papers. These preprinted papers were supplied to me by the venue. I only created the Caricature Part and all Color of course.)

Sometimes, I’m as entertained at a Party as the Guests are. In this case, I was drawing at the very University where I had graduated several years ago. Good to be back. And good to feel like these were the same people that I had gone to school with. Like, all’s well with the world.

Oh where have I been??? I stomp these grounds regularly - just getting to my gigs. I had a job last night at the Marriott Marquis near Times Square. Got there early, ate at The Roxy…..

But on my way, I opened my eyes. Looked around. To Appreciate where I go. This is a great city!

Did you notice the Red Steps? I never noticed them before.

Yeow - turns out they’ve been here for over a Year! Have I been so focused on getting where I have to go that I missed them? Or is the city so full of interesting visions that this magnificent structure just blended in with all the others? Oh let’s dance!
