Unsung Heroes

November 26th, 2009

i was just telling my Brother that he was going to get his Birthday gift late this year - because I had bought an adorable card that said: “I blame it on brainfreeze - Happy belated birthday”

Then we got to talking - Our Mother used to keep a box of cards - so they’d be available whenever needed. But there was one in the box that never got used - was she waiting for something Real Special? I had thought the card was just the best thing ever. I tried to scribble out what I remembered of it. Got the idea, but the original was even better.

Who could have drawn that card? Who drew the card I currently bought? Who are the unsung heroes who enrich our lives with such wonderful visions?

Thank you all. Thank you world. It’s a good life.

15 per hour

October 20th, 2009

I just came across Photos of 59 people - from a 4-hour party. Not too shabby. Especially since I humbly answer the question of “How many people can you draw per hour” with a recommendation to estimate 10 per hour.

59 people in 4 hours means almost 15 people in each hour.

I just wish more of the photos came out clear enough to actually See the faces that I drew. Here are some of the photos that are pretty clear. From an outdoor Wedding up in the Country. A beautiful day with land and fields and a dreamy ceremony:

BTW, as the bride started her ceremonial procession down to the lake where the groom waited, it started with traditional music. Then, groom named Bill, his bride swung into an active prancedance when the music switched to “I love you so, I always will And in your voice I hear a choir of carousels…..”

Then I heard a beautiful ceremony - The bride and groom were told to take each others hands, look into their eyes, and realize that they were looking into the eyes of the person who will always help you, the eyes of the person who will always be your friend - stuff like that. It was so beautiful.

Sides of Faces - Part I

September 15th, 2009

Studying the sides of faces. This is what I came up with last night.
(I made up this face):

There’s so much more I want to study - like, how to
Caricature the SIDE of the face.
(I hope I get up to doing that)
