I recently booked an Event for the Montblanc Store in which I was asked to Draw and Paint in the Style of The Little Prince.
At first, I thought my Client was asking me to Copy Illustrations from the Book. But I explained that I could do that, but I wouldn't. Because it is Illegal unless she could Show Me that she has a Copyright that would Extend to Me. So I felt glad that it was clarified that I would be Drawing and Painting In The Style of The Little Prince. My Own Pictures. I like to make sure that everything is clarified up front ~ so my Clients wouldn't be disappointed.
So, getting ready to Draw and Paint in a Different Style with a Different Medium (Water Colors), I set about to 'Study'. I made a Caricature based on a Photo of a Lady that I Caricatured at a Recent Party. On my Regular Paper because my Client wants me to work on her "Stationary". I'm figuring that won't be real WaterColor Paper.
Turned out to be as Easy as I thought it would be.
I will really Enjoy this Event. I love to Paint. And I admired this beautiful book since I was in High School!
But I'm hoping I will still feel good after working in this Style for several Hours. I felt surprised to Experience "Nervous Lines". Not at all the Smooth Confident Lines of My Own Style.
