Whirlwind

November 16th, 2008

It’s a Whirlwind ~ and That’s okay.

So much on my mind - the email problem that I wrote about yesterday just compounds my current personal dramas. Setting boundaries on the homefront and really missing, I mean Really missing my friends, and here I go to work. For me that means thrown into Your Parties!

Where I drop it all, all that stuff I just wrote about. And I’m inundated with beautiful wiggly kids and happy grown-ups who think that pictures pop out as soon as they say the word. Okay. Whew. And today I was even in terrible lighting conditions. Didn’t think of taking out my own clip-on lights because the room was not dark. It’s just that the bright light was Directly Overhead. Made the top of everyone’s Nose light up, their eyes fade into shadow…. I wonder if catering halls even concern themselves with how well their clients will look in the lighting. Next time, I’ll remember to make things better for myself.

So there I was today. At a 1-year-old’s Christening. Couldn’t think - just smiled and drew and Enjoyed. No matter what.

Now that I’m back in the Studio, I’m glad to see that I have Nineteen photos on my phone. That’s Nineteen pictures I drew in Two Hours - And most of those were even doubles - two people on a page. With all these crazies going on, I’m still so thrilled to see what good stuff comes out. I’ll show you some of the pictures:

Me - Upset. That’s so unusual.

But I might have a problem with my account at visualdust@gmail.com

That’s where I get ALL my email. That’s the account that’s been advertised for years. That’s the account where friends clients and agents contact me.

Just in case, you should have another way to contact me. Phone or Post Office - still the same. But now YOU CAN ALSO REACH ME AT visualsparkles@yahoo.com NO! SEE BELOW!

That’s what I wrote last night. Now I’ve been working on making all sorts of changes - Opened a NEW ACCOUNT, got to change the address all over my websites, tell all my agents and friends, and hope that previous clients will be able to find me.

THE NEW ADDRESS THAT I PLAN ON USING NOW IS: optidust@gmail.com optidust@gmail.com optidust@gmail.com

Please try it. Let me know that we’re still connected - me and my viewers.

My life is so much Fun.
My friend Liesbeth had visited NYC (she comes from Belgium) - I met up with her after my Halloween Face-Painting Gig, so I painted her before we went downtown to the Big Parade.

I Like to Take My Time

November 10th, 2008

I Like to take my time
I mean that when I want to do a thing
I like to take my time and Do it right.
Lyrics by Mr. Rogers

More than ever, I’m believing in that.
I can crank out picture after picture at a Party,
but I can also hit that 10 per hour request
when I take a litl more time to really look.
(I’d like to take All the time I’d want,
Really get into each picture
to peruse through pleasurable CreA-tivity,
but I’ve never seen a party handled that way……
I’m thinking now - would anyone like me to
study and observe - sustaaaaayned look - at the
Guest of Honor - following the Guest of Honor around all through the Party - instead of person pop person pop person?)

Anyway, here are some of the pictures I drew at Parties recently:
