Caricature Express

I really appreciate my clients. They make me feel so appreciated - giving me tips at their parties, calling with sincere appreciation….

This lovely woman made the effort to photograph the Studio Caricature I had mailed to her. The photo came out a little blurry, but I was still so happy to get it. They seem more ‘alive’ to me, somehow. Makes me feel like I’m really part
of their joy with the little part I can play. My client emailed me this photo and
wrote “He luved it. Thanx Alison!”

This was a fun Studio Caricature. If you heard the client’s instructions, you’d understand how I really did everything she wanted….

almost overnight. Picture was ordered at the last minute. She wanted it done right away. I prefer at least one week per face for Studio work, but if the customer doesn’t allow…..

This was a small Party. In a small house.
By small house, I mean, the ceilings were a little shorter than most houses. Made me think of a few funny shows where the idea of low ceilings was caricatured. Some lizards that the main character visits in “Men in Black”. And one of the early tv shows of “Keeping Up Appearances”. There I was, flashing on those funny shows, and I look over to the front door. This is actually the real scene I saw:

Back in November, I was hired to draw for a company located in Rockefeller Plaza. To celebrate the Big Tree Lighting Ceremony! It was a hoot. Gridlock driving around Manhattan, took a garage back where I came in to the city and walked to the venue. But even the streets were

Stopped. People lined the streets to see the event, so they just

Stopped. Trying to get through with all my supplies…..
Wow - I was there. Right where people wanted to be! And
I was there!

Sooo, I finally got a chance to post some pictures from that event.
And I figure that this is a good day for it - Glad I could at least get it here before Christmas…..

(BTW - I didn’t draw the scene on the side of the papers. These preprinted papers were supplied to me by the venue. I only created the Caricature Part and all Color of course.)
