Sylvester Stallone

Posted 12 days ago

This is harder than it looks. But I feel like I'm getting the hang of it. Using the Pressure Sensitivity of the White Pencil is different than using it with a Real Paintbrush or a Real Pencil. And the Fresco App really mimics Real Oil Painting and Real Watercolors and Real Bamboo Brush ~ but again, a little differently than we do when we're not in the Virtual World.

Tonight I made this Caricature based on a photo that I found of a 25-year old Sylvester Stallone.

Fresco

Posted 13 days ago

Instead of getting right back to recreating my Palettes in Procreate, I started with a new app. Fresco. I felt excited with it because it is more traditionally Painterly than Procreate. I'm still determined to apply my Oil Painting techniques to the cleaner IPad. Here is my first attempt at making a Caricature with it. Painted alone in my Studio. Based on a random photo that I picked up here from a Caricature that I previously drew at a Party.

It did feel more Painterly than the Procreate app for sure. But I'm still feeling like I'd better to use the Procreate app for drawing Caricatures at Parties and Events.

Updated Apps

Posted 14 days ago

Oh No! It happened! I finally did All the Updates on my IPad. And I LOST ALL MY CUSTOM-MADE COLOR PALLETTES IN PROCREATE! Gone. I had spent Hundreds of Hours creating them. (At least my Brushes and Templates are still here.)

Before attempting to redo my pallettes, I decided to give the Default Pallettes a try. They look pretty. The ones that automatically come with the new version of Procreate.

Aghk. NO Black. NO White. NO Dark Colors. And the Pallettes make no sense for a real Artist. No focus on the attributes of the Color Wheel. You just pick something that looks nice. Here's what I made. A Caricature based on the drawing that I did last night. I don't know if I'm going to redo my Procreate Pallettes or try a new app that my friend told me about recently.

At least the Smudge Tool at the Updated Procreate is working better than ever:

IPad Versatility

Posted Sep 2019

Here are just a couple of the Digital Caricatures that I drew at a recent Event. It's just great how I can resize and erase and use different brushes and oh there's just so much flexibility in drawing on an IPad.
