Noah Elkreif and Actualized Leo and Marie Dubuque

Posted Aug 2020

There I was, watching too many YouTubes, pen moving out of habit. So I drew Caricatures of the people that I was watching. Some of them were new people that I hadn't watched before, so I didn't notice their names. But I watched Noah Elkreif and Actualized Leo and Marie Dubuque lots of times before. So lol ~ when I went to post them here and I realized that I was watching someone new when I was watching the one that I thought was Marie Dubuque. I had just thought that I was looking at a younger version of her, an older YouTube, but now that I'm posting them I have a vague memory of it being someone else. Because I think I remember some other name ~ but it looked and sounded just like her.

Still Tapping Into Party

Posted Aug 2020

Things are opening up, but I'm still feeling the effects of this Covid-Pandemic. Less Parties per week ~ means that I still have more free-time. Time to notice that I'm not handling a Party today. Oh.

But even on days when I'm not going to a Party, I am able to tap into Party Attitude. I feel so fortunate that I have these photos here so I can re-live the Fun we always have when I am Entertaining at Parties.

No Longer a Problem

Posted Aug 2020

Here's a situation that hasN't been coming up lately. Actually quite a relief. I miss Facepainting. I like to do that. But I wouldn't do Facepainting during this Covid-Pandemic because it is Hands On. Most people know better than to even ask for that.

But back Before the Pandemic, it was not unusual for a Client to order Both Caricatures And Facepainting. That's Great if s/he arranges for the Caricatures First. The Facepainting can confuse what the Caricaturist is seeing.

Not quite so intense in these pictures - the facepainter was quite tame, but you can see some quite Transformational Facepaintings at my own blog, https://facepaintingexpress.blogspot.com/ .Sometimes a good facepainting can 'hide' what the person really looks like. Sort of an exaggerated use of make-up.

Looking through some pre-Covid Caricatures today, I came across a few that I drew after Someone Else facepainted these people. I can draw them, but it is more difficult to Caricature people who are already Facepainted. So I appreciate it that it hasn't been happening lately. People have been ordering Only the Caricatures now that the Covid-Pandemic is lightening up. I feel happy to Only Draw on Paper until it's more suitable to Paint on People.

COVID Situation Causes Confusions

Posted Aug 2020

Oh my goodness. These days are like crazy for us Artists. I used to check Every Day for what's coming up, but COVID put a damper on things. So there I was, 2am last night, ready to end my day, when I remembered I wanted to check on when my Next booked Event will be. So I dragged myself back to my office to check my list ~ even though I figured it would be in about a Month. Since I just drew Caricatures at a Party last weekend.

Oh my goodness. Egads, egads. Dare I go to sleep? I saw that I had booked a Baptism for Tomorrow! Tomorrow! It had been Rescheduled from a previous date ~ because of the Pandemic.

So, oh ~ I just did much less than half of the stuff that I planned to do today ~ then turned my attention to tomorrow's Gig. What to do first? Clothes?? Supplies? Draw on Paper???

That's what I did. Looked online for a Reference Photo of a Baby Boy, and drew a Very Quick Caricature. It worked out great. So easy for me. I got right into it. Maybe I'll come back in with Color later, but for now..... Posting on my website. I like my Readers. I think of you often.

and I do have Supplies the Supplies that I had put together previously Before the original date had to be changed. Once I realized that I'd just have to Revamp that, I felt like I had a little more time to practice a Group Caricature for the Baptism.

So Online I went. I found a quick Reference Photo of 5 people together. Figured I'd draw the Baby first. But oh no. This was not useable. (That's the bottom face on the 2nd picture here). So I did some troubleshooting with my technique, and drew it much better ~ but using up the space where I planned on drawing the other people gotta go now
