The Time of Their Lives

Posted Jan 2017

Every time I get these sorts of reactions to my CARICATURES, I wonder what it is that had immediately affected my Guests.

I like my pictures, and I just feel glad that I can bring them the Time of Their Lives. It feels great to see these people. And it feels wow great to see their reactions to what I see. This is the Time of My Life!

Difficult to Do But Worth It

Posted Jan 2017

This was difficult to do. My Client designed a Party about Lips for her Young Ladies. She hired me to draw Caricatures ~ with 'Big" Lips. Okay. But not everyone Has big lips. I explained to her that I would Focus on the Lips, but not everyone has Big lips. Caricature isn't to Change the person ~ it's to Accentuate what's already there.

It was the perfect party for this age-group. I think the girls were about 12 years old. My client provided them with Candy Lips and all sorts of things like Lip-Shaped Cookies (Fun! to put sweet Lip Shaped Cookies on your Lips). And my Caricatures.

It felt difficult for me to Focus on Lips ~ like it's not hard enough to know what to focus on to create each good Caricature. But it worked. I was able to do it and also Entertain the Party Guests at the same time. They even got involved in Singing along Fun Sounds to my Marker Strokes as well as the posing and laughing. What a wonderful place to be. What a wonderful time in the Girl's lives.

Never a dull moment ~ I haven't even had a chance to enjoy drawing a picture For Myself yet. I still have some vague ideas about a different expression/posture to illustrate Openhearted Loving, but this posts are getting close.

I just duplicated a different image ~ one I drew a long time ago ~ to set it as my Computer's Desktop Image instead. Even though the one I posted a few weeks ago had inspired my inSight because of what was going on That day, I feel like today's post is a little better at illustrating the message. To Love. With eyes closed to all the reasons why I might not want to. Eyes closed to any judgement of the person/place/thing being icky or bad. Eyes closed to previous hurts ~ whether it be by this person or from some other person/experience. Eyes closed to fear of what I might lose/spend.

Just an open heart. As pure as when we're children/toddlers/babies who have no memory of previous experiences. No 'intelligence' to forcast possible future experiences. Just the current moment of joy, excitement, hope, expecting good things.

And this image works on my Computer's Desktop even though it's So Purple. And Bright. It feels Loving, and I can still see my Folders.
