When I work in Central Park, I am prepared for all three
activities - Caricatures, Face-Painting, AND Balloons.
(See facepaintingexpress.blogspot.com or caricatureexpress.blogspot.com )
Much to carry! So I bring limited supplies for the Caricatures.
That means that my pictures are going to be simpler.
Not quite as exaggerated.
I took a few photos of them recently.
Hmmm, perhaps simpler and easier is real nice.
Just as special as the wilder pictures that I usually try to draw.
Should I continue to work so hard? Or should I just relax a bit and enjoy
that I can do this. Comments/Opinions Welcome.

Am I dreaming?
I think this girl came to life
from a 2″ plastic decoration

People. People. People.
I go to so many Proms. So many Graduations. So many Sweet 16’s.
So many. In the same situations.
Yet each one looks different.
And each one has his/her own story.
And each one is Fantastic.

I work in parks and catering halls.
Plain homes and magnificent homes.
I work in restaurants and nursing homes.
Schools and camps. Gyms. Apartments.
Indoors. Outdoors. And under the canopy.
I consider myself so lucky to go to some of the most interesting places.
Trendy places. Children’s Places. Famous Places.
Secret Places. Elegant Places. Little Corners.
And smack in the middle of the Stage.
I was inspired to photograph this Mansion as I drove up.
I drew here at a Prom for a Prep School:

Yeow! I just accepted a last-minute job for tomorrow
in which I’m to draw Body/Hobby. Haven’t done that
in about a Year!
Quickly. It’s late - I don’t feel like working just now.
But I’d better ‘get my hands wet’, so to say.
So I’ll be comfortable when I’m drawing at the Party.
Here’s some line-work that I just drew.
I remember how it’s done. The party will be fine:

Sure, people like pictures of themselves doing other things.
But don’t they know to prefer Real Honest Artwork?
Something like this is so much more Refined:

It’s 2 different approaches to Drawing.
A real exaggerated Face is created in the moment -
I can’t know how to draw it until I see the person I’m drawing.
But a body/hobby, of something that is not being done at that time,
it’s done with symbols, almost memorized - a completely different
approach than the way I draw the Face that I see.
I prefer to do Face Only. One type of drawing at a time.
So I can get into a ‘Zone’. But I’m excited/nervous to be
doing Body/Hobby again. It isi satisfying to use what I learned.
BTW, Clients usually prefer Face-Only too - Of course it’s
faster to draw just a face than to draw the face and also
the body/hobby. And Clients usually want me to touch-base
with as many guests as possible. And guests usually prefer
Face-only too. Going quicker, the Party entertainment moves
along more smoothly.
Ah, it’s all good. If we want to be happy, we will be.
I hope I’ll soon have some photos to post of the
Body/Hobby Party.
Good Night.
I’m ready now.
