Custom-Made Clothing

June 23rd, 2009

I recently decided that I needed new Specialty Clothing.

First, I drew Caricatures on the front and back of a tshirt.
That’s useful at some Parties - especially the ones where
I’m hired to draw on tshirts:

Then I had an old jacket that I had been keeping in my car
just in case a client surprised me with an outdoor Party on
a day that I considered too cold (I keep sunscreen for
the other extreme). Anyway, I was unhappy when
I had to wear it because it was an old thing that
I could ‘junk around’ in my car instead of
hanging up like we usually do with our clothes.
But now that I painted on it, I am not only
looking forward to wearing it for those
‘emergencies’. Now I’m thinking it’s too nice
to crumple around in the back of my car.

Now, this is something real useful. Laying on the chair in front of the picture
is an apron that I prepared for the times I’m asked to walk around a Party doing
Caricatures. The little apron has two pockets for holding my drawing supplies:

BTW, I drew the Caricature above to test out the apron.
Nothing like standing up and holding your supplies to encourage
you to draw real fast!

Wake Up !

Here are some more Caricatures that I drew at one of the Parties in the previous post. Once again, please be advised that the Face-Painting you see here was Not done by me Alison. I only did the Caricatures. You can see My Face-Painting at facepaintingexpress.blogspot.com

I remember walking in to this Party. The Adults sitting quietly, not expecting to have fun for themselves. Seemed like they only expected the Party to be for the Children. “Hello. Wake Up, you People.”

I told them that we were All going to have some fun now. Started drawing some of the Adults. Those Still-Life Adults suddenly became Animationed. Their eyes became vibrant. And the chatter got more energetic.

Excuse me - Your chocolate is in my peanut butter

Taking photos of what I do.
Glitches come up that you wouldn’t expect.
Here, for instance, I have some photos of
Caricatures that I drew at 2 different parties.

I also do some pretty high-quality Face-Painting.
So when I draw people who had first been Face-Painted by
someone else, I usually don’t even bother photographing my Caricatures.
So as not to misrepresent my Face-Painting.

Both of these parties had that situation.
The bottom 2 photos show someone else’s Face-Painting
along with My Caricatures. I figured that these Face-Paintings
were so insignificant, that I might not notice them much.

Bubble Plastic

June 18th, 2009

Where did I see these people? So many photos around here - just now I’m remembering things about the individuals, but I….

Oh! I remember this party! Not only the candy-jars on the table behind me (like in an apothecary shop), but also because they did something new. And very noticeable.

I go to so many parties - Always thrilled when I see something that I never saw before. Actually, it was a sound. Sharp. Yeow shocking. I think they spent a Looong time Popping Bubble-plastic (like the stuff we use to wrap breakable things before shipping them). Popping Bubble-plastic At The Microphone!

Jump! Jump! I didn’t really like the experience, but I could imagine that the kids were having fun with it. I couldn’t see what was happening because my back was to the center of the room so the guests could see me drawing. Wow! Something New!
