Corky Romano
I just watched the movie, Corky Romano. Tempted to draw while watching, as usual. I chose this actor, Richard Roundtree - because of some parties that I have coming up. I’ve been getting a lot of Parties to do Caricatures on the white t-shirts that are supplied by my clients. I usually don’t color the whole face when I’m working on the t-shirts, but I didn’t feel Confident on the times that I did want to color the whole face. Since I would have wanted to color Roundtree’s face, I decided to draw him.
And instead of using PhotoShop or Color-sticks as I usually would, I used a heavy brown Chartpack marker. First trying to leave out Highlight, trying to shape with Contours….ick. Then I finally found a technique that worked! A quick, simple technique to color an entire face, add in a few shadows, and Yes! I’m thrilled with it!
I’m just in such a good mood. I learned 3-D Face-Painting today and applied it to the best skull I ever face-painted yet. Will the growth never cease? I’ll post a photo of that Face-Painting if/when I ever find it in the thousands of photos that I have here…..
To be continued……

Hi Pizza Palm Beach
I’m so glad you’ve been enjoying my blog. That’s what it’s for ~ to show how Art is really done. Seriously, to understand how to do Art is to understand how to create and enjoy life. It’s about imagining what to draw, pretending that it’s real and jumping into that imagination. Responding to it as though it is real. Get it?
I have been absent for a while, but now I remember why I used to love this blog. Thank you, I will try and check back more frequently. How frequently you update your site?
Hi Brooklyn ~
Happy ~ Glad to have you back
Oh ~ Updating this site ~ I wish I could do that every day. So much to do, so many wonderful things, though, that I end up with Literally Tens of Thousands of photographs waiting on my Desktop - just waiting to be posted.
I usually post a few times a week, but it’s been less lately.
Got to shower and get out of the Studio within the next half-hour though, so for now I’ll put off the posting til
soon……..
Alison who has to coordinate the wonderful people and art-experiences with the trudgery of life.
That’s interesting. I’m from Birmingham and see the same attitude. Anyway, I’ll be back tomorrow.
